Marine Phycotoxin Training in Constanta, Romania

The EX-AQUA consortium is pleased to announce an upcoming international training course dedicated to marine phycotoxin analysis, microalgae isolation, and cultivation techniques. This hands-on training event will bring together researchers, laboratory professionals, and marine scientists interested in advancing their expertise in harmful algal blooms (HABs), marine biodiversity, and marine biotoxin research.

Hosted by National Institute for Marine Research and Development “Grigore Antipa”, the course combines theoretical sessions with practical laboratory activities, offering participants an integrated learning experience focused on sampling methodologies, analytical approaches, and advanced laboratory techniques used in marine phycotoxin research.

Event Details

  • Dates: 8–12 June 2026
  • Venue: National Institute for Marine Research and Development “Grigore Antipa”, Mamaia Boulevard 300, Constanța, Romania
  • Participation Fee: Free of charge
  • Registration Deadline: 31 May 2026

International Experts and Lecturers

Participants will benefit from lectures and practical guidance delivered by internationally recognised experts in marine science and harmful algal bloom research: Nina Dzhembekova (Institute of Oceanology, Bulgarian Academy of Science) – Urban Tillmann and Bernd Krock (Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research)

The programme will focus on:

  • Marine phycotoxin analysis
  • Harmful algal bloom monitoring
  • Marine microalgal biodiversity
  • Microalgae isolation and cultivation techniques
  • Laboratory analytical methods and sampling procedures

Registration

Participation is free; however, places are limited. If required, participants will be selected based on their professional background and the relevance of the training to their current work and research activities.

To register, participants are invited to complete the online registration form: Registration Form
